HeeHee. Nothing stimulates a discussion like a controversial statement. What? Aragorn make a wrong decision? Impossible!
My personal view is that Aragorn ran into a true no win situation and made the best decision he was capable of making. It turned out to be a good or at least adequate decision for reasons generally having little to do with Aragorn, at least from the perspective of fulfilling the quest. While it could be argued that the decision he made was not the "right" one, it really shouldn't be argued that his decision was "wrong".
