I presume that I would. However, would my daughter let me? Kath is old enough to choose her own fate; that is why she was allowed to go off to save her father in the first place. Her parents can no longer take care of her as the child she was, because she is no longer that child. If her parents attempted to give their lives for hers, would she allow it? Would she rather see the futility of the situation, hoping against hope that they didn't do anything stupid and kept themselves alive to help people that weren't beyond aid? Do you see my reasoning? Kath's death and the complete and total uninvolvment of her parents would be coming of age with a vengeance, I suppose.
Second thing: Regin: much though I love your post, you have Regin with Kathaani. I've had her taken away in advance so that she is currently alone save for unimportant side characters. It doesn't match up.
