In the interest of the abovesaid, I wanted to acknowlege here that life HAS allowed me to return to the Downs before the deadline (just in case anyone has checked and/or noticed the "last activity" info) -- I may even post to the game thread before 7:00

I assure you all this was a quirk of scheduling in an increasingly hectic life, and not gamesmanship.
