I'm being vehement? If I am cross, it's mostly with the people who, in my opinion, over-simplify this issue in the book.
I didn't start this thread to either defend or attackk Tolkien's choices regarding females in the Fellowship, and females in general. At least that's not what I had in mind. But threads like this tend to have lives of their own...
