Lossė sat back hard against the seat of the booth, an irritable expression on her dainty face. "Shameful?" What is it with all these prudes here? "It isn't shameful at all. It's skill and cunning makes me a good thief, and if foolishness and carelessness make a man a good mark, why should I pass up the opportunity to teach him his error!"
The man looked at her in surprise a moment, seeming to battle some inner amusement, which only further riled young Lossė. "And I'm no beggar, and shan't ask for anything I can get for myself," she said firmly, completely unaware of the oddities of her particular moral code.
