Oh? What about leaving Valinor with Feanor? That doesn't strike me as the best
priorities around. At least Luthien's disobedience was motivated by love, rather than revenge. And how, pray, does Galadriel have more character than Luthien? Yes, she helps the Fellowship, but any elf would do the same. Galadriel never left her woods, Luthien went all the way to Angband.
And she managed to defeat Morgoth, if temporarily, in a direct confrontation, while Galadriel only kept Sauron out of her land; her borders were rather small. (Yes, I am very biased, but anyway...)
