Actually sounds far too complicated for me...and I more or less ran away from the Fresher's fair when men in armour and rather realistic looking pikes tried to recruit me to the Sealed Knot ( I had titian hair to my waist in those days and the sort of face that suits period costume) ... having just failed to improve my grade in Tudor & Stuart history I rather wanted to forget the whole sorry episode and I rather imagined that I would spend every weekend as a serving wench ..... this bard stuff sounds more fun if I could have got my head around it ..( I just about coped with the first fighting fantasy adventure book) but I joined frogsoc instead ( where the guys were less nerdy
