Well, I have not (as of yet) met anyone who has actually read all the books Tolkien ever wrote or were put together after his death from his various writings. But I have read The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, and Unfinished Tales. I'm waiting impatiently for the day when I will have time to read the Histories. So far, Unfinished Tales seemed the best and the Silmarillion a close and necessary (sp?) second. I believe I am one of the few who could read straight through Unfinised Tales in a single day.
