Léoflic started helping Elfride with her stuff. "Yes, there was something I needed to tell you," he said carefully, not knowing how to say this properly.
"Elfride, I'm going to tell you that I am not good at what I am about to tell you. Over the past few days, I've opened up to you like I've opened up to no one. And you listened. For me, this was amazing. And you actually had enough trust in me to open up as well."
He hesitated, not quite sure how to go on. Finally, he decided to say it. "Elfride, I l-love you. Everytime I see you, you make me smile and make me forget about my worries and everything that's happened. You brighten my day with your smile."
Here he stopped, waiting patiently. He knew this would take her by surprise. Before she could answer, he went on to say, "If you do not have the same feelings, do not worry. I'll move on. I just need to know."
