OK, first things first:

the next person that suggests in my presence that Sam is gay will be relieved of their heads personally by me!

I'm with you on that, Frodo! I don't have a problem with people being straight or gay per se in real life, but it bothers me when everyone assumes that two people of the same gender can't have a close friendship or even love between them without being gay.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, one of my favourite individual lines from Sam has been "Don't go where I can't follow" - it brings tears to my eyes every time. And I absolutely love Sam's song in the book, the one I take my signature from - he's always so hopeful! I love him! I think his hopefulness is equally important for me, if not more so - it's a major part of the reason why I love Sam as a character.
But my favourite scene in general is when Sam talks about whether they might get put into songs or tales one day. At that point in the movie, I always start laughing, because they *are* in a story. Then they start talking about parents telling the story of Frodo and the ring to their children, and I remember how my dad read the book to me when I was young. Then Frodo says his whole "I want to hear more about Sam" line and it always makes me smile, because that was me when I was young. Sam was always my favourite. Wonderful, wonderful Sam.
