My point exactly! Tolkien and Barrow-Downs ( [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]) can interfere with your daily life even I find that. You need to make time for your interests and time for life! When you have an exam study (though it may be hard). To obsessed can lead to trouble!

My sister has tried to get involved but being a single mother must be hard for my sister and she works allot which leaves hardly anytime for her let alone to sit and read Tolkien, but she has tried! I also hope she gets better! I have spoken to her about the Downs and there is an interest so I am going to try and get her on! But how far will her obsession go, she might be glued to the screen!

I'm really sorry about that Niluial. Anything that inspires love or admiration is a double-edged sword. It can also lead to a very unhealthy obsession. I can see it from both your and your niece's perspectives because, it galls me to say, I used to be almost exactly like her. Thankfully, my friends stepped in, and nearly had to forcibly get me to go out with them again. I just hope that she gets that same intervention because, as much as I love Tolkien, I never want to go through that phase again.

Finwe you see this is why I want her on the downs people like you who understand her would be great for her! I am sure her friends would step in but what friends? Apart from Law I am also studying the basics on Psychology and I believe my niece has ‘social anxiety’ (meaning she is afraid of people and what they think of her), that’s what I think but I am not to sure. I thought maybe she shuts herself behind that door and entertains herself in middle-earth to keep herself away from people!
