The Shelob cake reminds of
Steal Magnolias when Shelby's (Julia Roberts) mother-in-law made that armadillo cake with red velvet insides. I suppose Shelob would have lime green insides.
Here's my attempt at Ted Nasmith's Bag End as seen on the front cover of
The Hobbit (Bantam). It was for my second daughter's fifth birthday back in '02. We didn't get to eat it cause I stored it over night in the oven and didn't realize the pilot light would melt it.
