Why not drop a letter to him via Harper Collins? I'm sure he'd appreciate the interest - and he can't possibly get as many letters as his father did. Plus if it's not asking him for something (as I'm sure most of his letters must be) but instead offering some good old feedback and praise then it would be even more appreciated.
