I suspect it does depend upon one's local culture. After all, the founder and patron saint of Glasgow is St. Kentigern, affectionately known in that city as
St. Mungo.
Rather makes all the Bombur, Bilbo, Drogo, Bifur, Bofur, Boffin, Brego names more . . . well . . . colloquial if not parochial.
