Wow! I feel like a novice where once I felt like a hard core fan. I've only read LOTR 3 times, and am working on a third reading of the Sil. This is over the course of the last 14 years. I've read parts of UT recently, but felt like a needed a refresher of the Sil before I could go on. And, I should be tarred & feathered for this, but I don't know if I've ever read The Hobbit cover to cover. <img src=eek.gif ALT=":eek"> I've read the play adaptation, but it's been so long that I can't remember about the book.
