About the same way you did. My roommate and I were looking up those Foxtrot cartoons that came out at the time of the Fellowship and I came across the Barrow-Downs in my search. I wandered about for a bit and found a site I fell totally head over hills for. I had never done a search for Tolkien online and didn't know I could find such good things and good people as well.
