The Whole Of The Moon is in part influenced by CS Lewis according to Mike Scott (singer & songwriter - main man in the band...). The lyrics on this are fascinating - the singer tells of things he has done and then counters each with things the subject has done - the latter seems to have lived a cloistered, quiet life but even so, has seen wondrous things and had amazing revelations - there's the line in the chorus: "I wandered out in the world for years while you just stayed in your room. I saw the crescent, you saw the whole of the moon". The song has always fascinated me...
