I'd it's the strange fox that sees the Hobbits in a fir-wood.

or I'd have 'em for my tea.- a fox is at least in the Shire probably the greatest hunter
I chanced one eve on three,
vast giants of great might,
and most astounding height,
from whom I ought to flee, - Hobbits would appear to a fox as giants
But I couldn't be bothered - the fox strats to think why the Hobbits are there
