No, not what I had in mind. There are bits in your explanation that would be kinda... forced (like the thing with the rain, and also "Now I am left to talk to myself" is obviously a conclusion of something, while Balin chose for himself to go to Mirrormere, he was not left to do it or anything like that, or at least it's not said in the books. Also you didn't explain the "sit down" part). Keep trying
