It doesn't matter that much that Gandalf won, though - now I can proudly like the less popular character.
I have friends who were born on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, and it was much worse for them. Of course it was a bit frustrating to get presents only once a year, but at least there was something to look forward to then.
