I actually haven't checked the Fanfiction section here at the Downs yet, but if you'll allow me to suggest another author from outside of the site, I'd be happy to! At fanfiction.net, there are a very good selection of fanfic authors who do come extremely close to the perfection that is Tolkien. My favorite LOTR fanfiction author is
Thundera Tiger. She has some great stories.
While the Ring Went South and
Beyond This World are just quite marvelous. The latter deals with Gimli's death and how Legolas deals with it. Quite sad. The former is very entertaining and very riveting. Hope I've been of service! [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]
