I don't think you've moved too fast, if someone wants to still post something that takes place before Eodwine leaving they can write it in retrospect, I think. And surely for most if not all the writers who still want to write before the arrival of the landlords (if there even are such wirters) it would be okay even to just write about their characters' feelings after Eodwine's departure.
