Actually, I kind of "liked" Denethor too. I mean, not if he was a real person I had to put up with, but his role in the story made for very interesting reading! I love the part about looking into the palantír and only being able to see two hands withering in flame *shudder*. I will always be a sucker for insane characters. You can explain anything they do!
