If they're running short on time now but still wish to compete, offer them some help getting started. The most important thing to hand in now is predictions (most goals, group winners, so on), as those cannot be done once the tournament begins. The team, on the other hand- you can redraft your entire team after the first round of group play, so just toss some players, any players, onto your roster for now if that's all you have time for.
