I dunno if he'd be a good fighter in the Battle for MT. He correctly pointed out to Pippin in a meeting with Gandalf that he, like many leaders, let's the troops do the fighting and only appears to gloat over a vanquished enemy or declare a surrender if all hope is lost, etc.
