But you're right, I'd totally overlooked that. If he was right in this, it would simplify things a great deal for me, since we know that
Agan was the cobbler - and

No, I don't know that. And how can
you know it (as in
know, not 'believe' or 'be convinced') if you're an ordo? You realize I can turn this around?
Besides, every innocent knows they're innocent themselves, and every wolf knows who's innocent. By your logic, there would be no unknown innocents.
