Hmm there are a few:

All of Fellowship of the Ring EXCEPT The Ring Goes South. I feel Tolkien could have easily shortened it, because even though it gave the Fellowship a reason to go through Moria, it was too much wasted paper.

From the Two Towers I liked the last three chapters best; for me it was a kind of climax where everything was very suspenseful.

I didn't like Return of the King much, sadly. Very frankly it kind of bored me till I reached the last couple of chapters.
