Hi, I am new to this board and to LOTR. I am 23, an yes, this is the first time that I have read the books. I started LOTR on Sat Jan 27 and I finished Monday Feb 4.

All I can say is that I wish I had read them sooner. I normaly devour books, I can read a 350 page book in about 6 hrs. But the depth of these books are amazing. I started reading early middle ages stuff in college in British Lit class. I fell in love with Beowulf, Sir Gawain, and King Arthur's Court.
