Looks as if tying the movies to the
LOTR films is indeed more important to them than telling the story of
The Hobbit. The "comic" uses of the dwarves give more than a little unwelcome sense of
deja vu.
Also, I don't remember 1990's action-hero head-butts being used in the books.
