BUT.

It's LEND for 'advance,' then the word RUE 'runs back' and completely 'swallows' (surrounds) the 'lend.'

ISILDUR: King's son! [In great sorrow he obeys him, and leaves Elendur, who showed promise of becoming such a great king, to die too.]

I believe Elendur was very like Elendil.
