In LoTR, Aragorn is crowned by Gandalf with something that looks very much like an ordinary war-helm of Gondor. This, however, was not always what the the Kings of the South-Kingdom wore. What were the origins of the first crown of Gondor, and why wasn't the headgear of Anárion used?
