CU back then (Early 80's IIRC) made old Sabbath seem like top 40's (but then so did very early Queensryche, so that's not saying much, [remember the mini-LP?]).

Summoning is alright. Think they're classed as Death Metal more than Metal (general).

From the discussion; groups associated with Tolkien are easily discovered (a return to the question sortof).
This has been mostly restrained in the metal field in this discussion, but has larger branches in other genres more 'popular'.

A return to Yngwe for a sec... c'mon... can you really think of a more contemplative song (for the time) than Hiroshima mon amour? But now... does anyone even know where Mr. Malmsteen is? (I do... but n/m you wouldn't believe me if I told you).
