I have a question that is related, albeit a side or subtopic--I had to sieze the opportunity to ask one of those little questions that pops up to nag the noggin from time to time.
Why would Tolkien have given the good farmer of crops worth coveting a name that is so oft associated with rotten meat? And, given his association with Tom, well ... mayhaps my sensibilities are a tad sensitive, but, "Bombadil and Maggot"?
Again, this wasn't worth a whole new topic, so I thought I would see if it fit well enough here to tease someone into enlightening me!
