It's indisputable that The Hobbit, The Silmarillion and The Lord of the Rings alone make up pure Middle-Earth canon.

However, what of other works Tolkien wrote and saw published? The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, Smith of Wooton Major, et cetera... I don't consider them to be canon, and most people don't, but they were pure Tolkien...
