Now there's a Sean Bean link you probably don't need to know about Sharpe but just in case: Early 1990s series of TV movies based on the books by Bernard Cornwell. Sean played Richard Sharpe, a dashing soldier fighting against Napoleon and yet a common man (not aristocracy and that stuff) who'd been promoted on his merit as a soldier not his birth. He was utterly delicious. If you really want to go to pieces though he was in Lady Chatterley's Lover, another TV series even before that, playing Mellors.
