Tolkienist does sound awfully professional. Like an academic who gets paid to research and teach Tolkien's works.
Tolkien Fan is probably more descriptive of most of us.
Tolkien Freak/Geek/Nerd is certainly an accurate description of quite a few!
Now
Tolkienista has a sound I like! Sort of a revolutionary junta feel to it.
Tolkienian I suppose is descriptive of things that are like Tolkien's writing

Tolkienary is one who follows his "teachings." These are the folk on the street corner!
