There's no magic in
Lord of the Rings. Gandalf's "magic" is equivalent to an archangel's powers. So, unless you think that (depending on your religion) God's servants use "magic", Tolkien is the only author who
didn't use "magic" in his stories.
And, guys, lay off on the "stolen plot" thing....Tolkien
created modern fantasy, so it's natural that every other modern fantasy story has Tolkien-istic elements in it [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]
