a wee bit o' criteekin since you asked;
would not pippin actually have known and said that the bullroarer was his gr.gr.gr.gr.grand uncle[I think I got it right] given there famous love of genealogies ?
but that little bit aside - the possibilityof actually having a description of the white towers,the grey havens,Lindon,or the lower course of the brandywine [if he had just taken a boat out of the shire] where he might meet the remants of the secretive primitive fisher-folk[mentioned in U.T.] trapped[ as they felt] between the westernmost druedain in the south and the sindarin elves of harlindon.
not to mention a possible journey up the greyflood to the not yet entirely deserted tharbad...oh the possibilities...please, tell on!
