For #7, I'm spinning versions of SO-(Y). Pathetic = sorry and wet = soggy both have that in common. But soy sauce is not exactly in miruvor's league and I can't come up with another legible combination. Thoughts? Any drinks that have SO?

As someone whose knowledge of chemistry is largely organism-based, my first reaction to this was to suggest heme iron, which is absorbed better than iron salts and causes fewer gastrointestinal side effects.
To each their own textbooks.
