The game owners will each play one major character (A Knight of Rohan and the Ranger), and any minor characters (i.e. residents of Bree) that may be necessary to complete the plot.

Himaran’s Character:

Name: Brytta Hildeson

Gender: Male

Race: Man, Rohirrim.

Age: 38 (His younger brother is 28)

Appearance: Brytta has blond hair, short for his race, and is fairly tall. Strong, quiet, and an excellent warrior he wears brown clothing with a black belt trimmed with gold, and dark leather boots. He has a slight limp in his left leg from an accidental wound he received during a training exercise, and prefers to ride rather than walk. He is often seen with a silver ring on his right hand, a gift from his mother.

Weapons: When riding, Brytta wields a long spear. He always carries a short axe on his belt, along with a knife. The Rohirrim is often seen with his short sword, his prize weapon and (as the eldest) a family heirloom.

History: Brytta had lived a happy life with his family, working on their farm as a young man, up until the fateful orc raid that changed his life completely. His parents were slain in the assault, and he escaped to Edoras. Later on with his younger brother he was among the defenders at Helms Deep. Both survived and served under the new king Eomer for several years by the time Heldór was arrested for suspected murder. Feeling responsible for his younger brother, Brytta now hopes to help him escape; even if it means sacrificing his career and life.

Carrűn’s Character:

Name: Awyrgan

Gender: Male

Race: Man, Ranger

Age: 30

Appearance: Awyrgan is of average height, shorter than many Rangers, but his overall presence makes him seem taller. He is powerfully built with jet-black hair, wears dark and weathered clothing, and his overall appearance is very forbidding. He looks much older than he is, but his eyes give away his true age. His eyes are green, but blaze red when angry and his gaze is said to bed pained, but also one of the most insightful and piercing of his time. He can move like a shadow and while he has no supernatural capabilities he has often been compared to a wraith. He has a limited ability to communicate without words. On his left index finger is a black ring with a green jewel in the center that he received from his father. He is a skilled hunter and tracker, and is deeply in touch with the nature that surrounds him in his travels.

Weapons: He carries a long sword with which he is very skilled, but often prefers to use one of his three knives. One is in his belt, another on his chest, and a third strapped to his boot. He sometimes carries a bow, and can use one when need be. He wears a black mail shirt under his cloak but seldom wears any other armor.

History: Awyrgan was born into the tribes of the Rangers of the North, the nephew of Halbarad. However, his father quarreled with his Uncle and led a small group of Rangers and their families away from the main camps. He grew up in a small nomadic tribe with little knowledge of his heritage. When his father died, he was still young but was made chieftain of the group and inherited his father’s ring. Shortly after, he returned with a companion from a hunting trip to find his village burned and all of his people, including his wife and unborn child dead. His companion killed himself in despair while Awyrgan watched. He then attempted vainly to pursue the wild men who had destroyed his home but was unable to do so.

Returning in a state of mental disarray he set about burying the dead. When he buried his wife he took the ring he had given her, heated it in the fire, and burned a scar into his face as a memory of his failure. He also gave himself the name Awyrgan, meaning “condemned one” or “strangled.” He wandered aimlessly until he was found by a group of Rangers and thus rejoined his people. He rode with his uncle on the Paths of the Dead and met Aragorn but did not give him his real name. He fought in the battle of Pellanor Fields but his only real function was to stand guard over the body of his dead uncle.

After the war he chose to leave the camps of the Rangers and live on his own, but maintained his contact with them. He found work as a guide, tracker, and occasionally a sell-sword. He is a skilled orator and will often tell stories of his travels during his stops at various Inns. He is fond of the Shire and usually remains close to it, but has traveled as far south as Umbar and even lived for a time in the wastelands of Mordor; the one land he chooses not to tell tales about. He speaks many tongues and is friends (and enemies) with many people of all races.
