My mistake. She is, in fact, on the other side of the mountains (the Gondor side). She wanders, but it's probably still a fairly long walk to the wood. I don't know the exact distance - maybe about a day.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect. But actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey... stuff.
