I know toll-KEEN is right, but I still say toll-KEE-en most of the time because it was my original interpretation. Just like I can't bring myself to say SOW-ron.
"Tolkienist" sounds more like someone who performs Tolkienistic feats, like an "alienist" or a "hypnotist". There's an air of charlatanism about it. How about "Tolkienite"? "Tolkienism" as a form of government?
Here are a few more terms to describe different Tolkienistic disciplines:

"Tolkienography"
"Tolkienophonics"
