The first books in the fantasy-genre that I read when I was younger was the
Chronicles of Narnia, so of course Aslan has a special place in my heart
Since my eyes were opened for the world of fantasy I've read a lot of different series, but my favourite (after Tolkien of course) author is
David Eddings. He's really good at making the reader feel as if one knew the main characters. After finishing 10 books with them, you feel as if you've lost a friend. Besides, sometimes the books are very funny (at least for the ones who know the main characters).
I also like the books of Harry Potter. I know it's a bit childish but I don't care, they're good
