Well, it seems to me that I've got some of the greatest heroes of the age just hanging around the beach looking heroic, and Merisu is supposed to be the most beautiful woman this side of the Mediocre River. Perhaps too much sex appeal creates some sort of feedback that makes it all go horribly wrong. For added laughs, Our Heroine could destroy it unwittingly in true Mary Sue style. "Oh, but surely I can't possibly be that attractive" (winsome flutter of eyelashes); island sinks; divers alarums, etc.
