A suggestion to those of us who are students or in similar financial situations. When I was in college I used to take the old albums I didn't listen to anymore (yes, they were vinyl records) down to sell at the Record and Tape Traders to have money to donate to things. Even if you just find one it is a couple of bucks. It cleans, recycles and helps a cause all at once! And you don't have the bother of a yard sale.
And Mister Barrow Wight, perhaps there is some way to put excess funds in a sort of trust or fixed deposit? It would be wonderful if interest could cover costs when needed, though the taxman may become unduly involved.
