Numenor 0 - 2 Nargothrond

In the first half, despite the posession being about even Nargothrond very much dominated the game. Whenever they touched the ball they looked like scoring, it was only some brilliant defensive play (10 men behind the ball) by Numenor that kept them alive. Most of the time the sheer numbers of the Numenorian defence choked out all Nargothrond attacks.

The closest they came was a powerful header by Felagund which skimmed the top of the crossbar. Near the end of the first half Numenor won a free-kick and Gundor was shown a yellow card. Numenor built a swift passing move but a last ditch tackle by Curufin assured they would go in without a goal.

Numenor began to push back Nargothrond with some wonderful attacking play early on in the second half. Amandil pulled off a shot that whistled through a crowd and was magnificently saved by Beor. Numenor continued their smooth attacking till Nargothrond hit a swift counter-attack which gave Mormegil a chance to knock one in, which he did quite gracefully.

Numenor began to play very, very attacking football upon going a goal down and seemed to harass the Nargothrond defence at times but they held strong. Towards the end of the match Nargothrond broke on another counter attack, Finduilas provided a cross from outside the area which was easily converted by Mormegil to seal the game.

Tuna 1 - 0 Doriath

Tuna played fantastic football and outright dominated the first half and their skilled plays resulted in a very well taken goal. In the early moments of the match Tuna won a free kick. Unfortunately the ball fizzed past everyone and out for a goal-kick. Around the 30th minute a high cross from Maedhros was chested down by Feanor who, after some fancy footwork, chipped it past Melian for an easy goal. Tuna's dominance is very much reflected in the posession of the first have, a cool 65% was seen by Tuna.

Tuna continued their dominance in the second half and kept pressing Doriath's defence. Though it seemed they preferred upstaging their opponents by dribbling circles around them and holding onto the ball in dangerous places even when there were brilliant chances to score another. It was some very fancy play by Tuna who seemeed to prefer using the second play to relax and warm up for the coming tournament.

Towards the end of the match Doriath actually began to see more of the ball but Tuna held them back, not letting them really get any shots in. Doriath will feel totally humiliated after this match, Tuna upstaged them on every front and even took time to taunt their opponents, in fact they dedicated an entire half to it. It is believed that Doriath have lodged an official complaint agains this.

Erebor 0 - 0 Fangorn

What a boring match. Neither team commited to attack as can be seen by the ZERO shots taken in the entire match. Fangorn may have gone forward a bit in the start and then Erebor towards the end but that's about it. Nobody bothered shooting and this match was just plain... boring.

Rohan 0 - 1 Tol Eressea

This was a fairly boring and very one sided match. Tol Eressea walked all over Rohan, who failed to even get to the other half. Tol Eressea's domination didn't really do much for them anyway as they only managed to get one shot on target through the entire affair. Around the 65th minute Elwing sent in a cross for Earwen to head home with relative ease. All in all, a boring game.

That's that for today's round of friendlies. I might have a match or two more later today. The fixtures for the first round of the group stages will also go up today.
