Pherdur nodded when Fededhor said this even though he'd prefer to go alone. He knew it was a dangerous road back to the city but he thought it would be better if only himself got captured or killed rather than a few more soldiers along with him. Still he new Fededhor was a wise leader and decided that he would probably know best.

They made their way through the forest quietly until they eventually came to an opening into a wide field. The soldiers knew that here they had to be wary as any orc might see them walking through the wide open space and they had to get back into the wood about a mile away. But it was still to long a time to walk out in the open in case of any spies.

About half way down to the wood Pherdur and the soldiers heard a noise to their right not too far away and they all quickly turned their heads to see what it was. They saw a few black figures moveing away from them so the soldiers quickly dived on the floor expecting they were some orcs. Then Fededhor asked Pherdur too see what was there and Pherdur crept away on his hands and knees silently.

He made his way up a small hill too see what was there, and as he peered over the top he saw orcs talkng rather loudly and moving in the opposite direction to them.

"Five, seven of them at the most," Pherdur said to himself as he looked over at the orcs squinting his eyes. Shortly after he arived back where the other soldiers were still ducking to stay hidden. Pherdur sat next to Fededhor and said "They were orcs but not many of them, five, maybe seven at the most," Pherdur paused for a moment thinking the talking of the orcs were getting nearer and then said "shall we creep around them, or shall we attack them?"
