HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BARROW-DOWNS!

On May 1, 2004, the forums at the Barrow-Downs reach the ripe (and I do mean ripe!) old age of FOUR! While the site itself is a bit older, the fourth anniversary of the opening of the forums is a cause to CELEBRATE!!!!! Therefore, we will have a PARTY in the Shire to celebrate the fourth birthday (uh, deathday?) of the Barrow-Downs forums and all members are invited!!!!!

PLACE: The Party Field in Hobbiton (located in the Shire Forum).

TIME: Saturday, May 1, 2004 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Pacific time through late Monday night, May 3, 2004.

DRESS: Middle Earth Wear – formal, if you wish, or just plain comfortable.

There will be an open bar, entertainment, and meals will be served buffet style.

COME CELEBRATE THE BARROW-DOWNS, AND PAY YOUR RESPECTS TO THE WIGHT!

(ANYONE TRYING TO SNEAK INTO THE PARTY BEFORE THAT DATE WILL BE DEALT WITH PERSONALLY BY ME)

Time once again for Saucepan to buff his pots and polish his pans.

And time also for Sergeant Saucy's Barrow Downs Club Band to reform. This one's from the vaults:

For the benefit of Mr Wight
There will be a party, right
Here on the Downs.

The Haunted Spirits will be there.
In formal Middle Earthy wear;
Elven gowns!

With Mods and Admins, Ghosts and Wights,
All gather in the Party Field down in the Shire;
In this way for its birthday we honour the Downs.

The celebrated Mr B
Has called us all on Saturday
To celebrate.

The Party-fiends will dance and sing
And snack on sautéed Balrog’s wing.
Don't be late!

Pio and Child assure us all
That this party will be second to none
And, of course, Pan of Sauce dances the waltz.

The fun begins at dead on nine
When Mr B will give a sign
To start the rave.

And Boromir the Disco King;
Will strut and groove his funky thing
Do the wave!

This being some days in preparation.
A splendid time is guaranteed for all
On the night Mr Wight is topping the bill.
