Collective Nouns of Arda
You’ve heard of a “gaggle” of geese, a “sleuth” of bears, a “pride” of lions…
What should we call “a group of Balrogs flying in formation”?

Well, we could go closer to the literal spirit:
a dread of Balrogs a terror of Balrogs a squadron of Balrogs Or we could be ironic: a festival of Balrogs a charity of Balrogs Or we could be (British-ly) understated: an imposition of Balrogs

I like an "at most seven" of Balrogs.
A metaphorical wing of Balrogs, rather. Clunky and a wee bit confusing, sure, but lore-accurate! (IMHO.) Or we could go with the more conciliatory debatable wing of Balrogs.

An aviary of Balrogs? (Sounds charming!)
Speaking of charming, how about a group of Hobbits? |
