Ah, some good answers there. 'Nauglamir' is correct. All others wrong, but Nilpaurion is very very close with the guess for no. 8 ... just follow all of the steps in the clue...

NightKnight is right with the Aftercomers. (A translation of Hildor). Turambar is right with Luinil. Cirith Ungol is wrong. Nilpaurion's first guess at #9 was good. #2 ... nope. If you need any hints, yell...

*grins* No, it's not a stairway. As I said, Nilpaurion was almost right with Cirith Forn en Andrath. Almost....

Perhaps you meant the more common version of its name used by Gandalf, "the High Pass"?

No. The High Pass isn't passed by Greenway. You need to go further south.

Update (as I drive myself mad going back and forth between pages ): 1. Gladden Fields - Cheery hideout stands before stretches of grass. 2. Robin Smallburrow - Confused Sam will burn or rob. 3. Araman - Half a judge follows Elvish noble in barren wasteland. 4. Luinil - Blue-shining star. 5. Woses - A lack of direction makes Wild Men miserable. 6. Nauglamir - Gift to Elvish leader causes his downfall. 7. Strawheads - Incomers precede heads with dried grass to mock thralls. 8. Aftercomers - Beginnings of a hobbit's departed uncle meet Elvish land, and are translated for men. 9. Andrath - Long Climb passed by Greenway.

No. Check Greenway's path, and remember the 'long climb' bit. When I say Nilpaurion was close, it's not because he chose a mountain pass.

Andrath it is. Dunharrow is wrong. So ... just some cryptic things left now ... again, shout if hints are needed...

			7. Incomers precede heads with dried grass to mock thralls. The Incomers are the Easterlings who call the Edain of Hithlum Strawheads and make them thralls.

Ooh, good answers. Lindolirian is right with 'strawheads'. Turambar is right with 'woses' and 'gladden fields'. As for #2 ... well, it's confused 'sam will burn or rob'. So take confused as having its usual cryptic meaning - ie, indicating an anagram - and see what you can do with the letters. Hint: You're looking for a living being. Should be easier now.

Robin Smallburrow? Though you seem to have an extra "R", and no "W".

Robin Smallburrow it is. The 'w' is from 'will', and there are 3 'r's (burn or rob) and 3 'r's in Robin Smallburrow. So it should work. Password, anyone?

Nauglamir - Gift to Elvish leader causes his downfall. 7. Strawheads - Incomers precede heads with dried grass to mock thralls. 8. Aftercomers - Beginnings of a hobbit's departed uncle meet Elvish land, and are translated for men. 9. Andrath - Long Climb passed by Greenway.
